WESTERN ILLINOIS ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS DURING THE MID TO
LATE AFTERNOON...WITH THE GREATEST COVERAGE ACROSS THE AREA
BEING TONIGHT.
DISCUSSION:
AS THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS WESTERN ILLINOIS EARLY THIS AFTERNOON
APPROACH THE AREA...THEY WILL LIKELY INCREASE IN COVERAGE
AND IN INTENSITY...ESPECIALLY DURING THE EVENING. SEVERE STORMS
ARE POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE STORMS...WITH LARGE
HAIL BEING THE GREATEST THREAT. THERE IS AN OUTSIDE CHANCE THAT
SOME OF THE STORMS CLOSEST TO THE WARM FRONTAL
BOUNDARY...NAMELY ALONG AND SOUTH OF U.S. HIGHWAY 24...COULD
PRODUCE STRONG WINDS OR EVEN A BRIEF TORNADO.
IN ADDITION...AREAS OF DENSE FOG ARE LIKELY.
